St. Aloysius College Institutions alumni

The SACAA Annual Reunion 2010 was conducted on January 12, 2010.

The Convener, Rtn.Edwin JF DSouza and his team had planned a different ambience this year for the evening. The seating arrangement was made around round tables, covered with rich red table cloths and bright red chairs matched the setting. The lighting was superb and sound system soothing.

The Band in attendance was ELSIUM (very apt name indeed) led by Roy and Party; apart from their own lilting numbers, internationally famed Konkani Yodeling King Melwyn Peris (after sentimentally recollecting his own years in SAC sang some lovely numbers. Another famed singer/actor/comedian/writer, Premkumar did not lag behind and Hubert joined him too.

The fellowship counter (some counter that was!) was the hub of attraction, fun and frolic, of course, within the restrictions recently imposed by the Excise Department.

Games and spot games were conducted by Edwin who had also prepared and presented a Power Point Projection of over 200 photographs/write-ups about SACAA which was established in 1901 as the Old Boys’ Association (OBA).

The dinner buffet was excellent. Kudos to Aaron Caterers!

Although the credit for the success of the Reunion goes entirely to the Members of the Executive Committee, some Members’ names have to be specifically mentioned: Allan Colaco, Prof.Naveen, Dr.Richard Gonsalves, Winston D’Souza, Austin D’Souza, Paul Moras, Edmund (President) and Michael (Secretary) and Arthur D’Souza.

The welcome speech was by Edmund the President, Fr.Swebert, the Director and Fr.Jossy Rodrigues, the Patron gave the messages and Arthur D’Souza proposed an apt vote of thanks.

After this formal program, Edwin took over to entertain the gathering of about 400 Aloysians and their families and friends with fun and games.
