Dear Friends,

I am delighted to know that St Aloysius Evening College is launching its Website shortly. In today’s world Internet has become the most important means of Communication. The College Website will greatly help the present students and the Alumni/ae to know what is happening in the College. The Website needs to be updated at least on a weekly basis so that students find something new
whenever they log in. The Website could be made interactive.

As we all know the Internet has revolutionized the means of Communication in a globalized world. Today more than ever, people particularly the young want to communicate. I feel that the College Website through innovative means can become a major tool to communicate positive ideas and values to our students and also other young persons.

On this happy occasion I greet The Administration Rev. Dr. Stany D'Souza S.J., The Principal Dr. Donald Lobo, The Vice-Principal Mr. Manohar Serrao, Staff and Students of SAEC.

May God abundantly bless this venture and also all at St.Aloysius Evening College.

SAEC a dream of Fr Mathew Lewis SJ, then rector of St Aloysius College, a man gifted with rare combination of vision and mission; courage and commitment, was indeed an answer to the long felt need of the working people of Mangalore. If Fr Mathew dreamed it was Fr Stany Vas SJ who shouldered the responsibility initially, as the first principal, a man of cheerful disposition and warmth for the poor, made the dream come true as the College was formally inaugurated on 18 December, 1966 and started to function.

The service to the working classes, who, by force of circumstances have to learn while they earn and others, who cannot pursue their studies due to want of funds, is the unique contribution of this College. However if you see the annals of this College, one notices that quality is not compromised here; students are provided with quality education and everything it implies: good teachers, excellent facilities and co-curricular and extracurricular opportunities. The noteworthy point is that students have positively responded to the vision of the Institution.  They have made the Alma Mater feel happy and proud with not only good results but also with many other accomplishments.

Hence, the challenge is very clear for the present staff and students. We have to keep high ideals and work relentlessly towards their achievement. We will surely make our alma mater proud. Let us dream dreams and work hard to make them come true.

Dr. Donald Lobo

Our life should be like flowing water, it must not stagnate.  There should be something to look forward to, to rush, to flow the way we wish.

“Great minds discuss ideas, normal minds discuss events, small minds discuses people”

We must adopt the right attitudes in our life and should move on.  Definitely everyone can be successful in his own way.  Success is not a matter of luck or genius but it depends on adequate preparation and strong determination.

“Countless efforts by themselves imply success, in spite of the countless failures, the power to rise is the mark of a true winner” so, the resolution of each one of us should be to be determined, strong of mind and body and to strive to reach greater heights.

Thus an Aloysian:
  • has commitment to justice
  • thinks critically
  • imbibes ethical  values
  • cultivates a positive sense of attitude.
