Graduation Day 2011
“Do not cry its over; Smile, it happened”

Graduation day for the 10th Std out going students, was held on March 10, 2011 at 5 PM in the High School Hall. Mr.Vinay Goankar, Police Inspector, Mangalore North was the Chief guest. The programme began with a prayer service conducted by our senior teacher Mr.Gopala Krishna Bhat and students. A welcome dance ‘Deepavu Ninnade Gaaliyu Ninnade’ choreographed by Mr.Mohan Raj, depicting examination tension and anxiety of a student, was highly appreciated.
 
On behalf of the outgoing students Jason Saldhana and Sudhanva Upadyay expressed their sincere thanks to their alma mater and said that the graduation day was a day of mixed feelings, feelings of fulfillment and sadness, anxiety and uneasiness, accomplishment and gratitude and above all the feeling of missing St.Aloysius High School.  Dr.Jacintha Martis, mother of our 10th Std. student Joel Martis also expressed her gratitude towards the management and staff and encouraged students to be more positive in life.  She represented the parent body of the school.
 
Students who had excelled in various activities in the school were felicitated and given a word of advise by the Chief Guest. Fr.Clifford, the Headmaster of the school, administered the Pledge and Rev. Fr. Joseph Rodrigues, Rector of the Institution along with the teachers and parents blessed the outgoing students and encouraged them to be men and women for others.The symbols representing our students which were offered during the programme in the form of Empty pot, mud, water, manure and plant, added meaning to the celebration. Students in rapt attention, beaming with joy and excitement listened to the heart felt words of Fr.Melwyn Pinto their headmaster during the last three years whose recorded message was displayed on the screen. A documentary on “our school and our memories” was prepared by Br. Kiran Aloysius, to recall and cherish their school memories. It was emotional and in their hearts they felt ‘we part’ but ‘we will meet again’.
 
The programme culminated with graduating students, making a promise with lighted candles to live for one another and uphold the Aloysian ideals. There were tears in their eyes and fulfillment in their hearts.
