When the teachers make the studies interesting, children will comprehend well their studies.  In this school I took it as a challenge and made the teaching method interesting for the children.  Today whatever I have done, it was by keeping children's growth in mind, in the four years of my tenure in this school, the children have achieved a lot from it.  I tried to solve the problems of every child who was studying in this school."  He urged the present headmaster to continue with the same zeal and make learning in this school interesting for the students.

The top-scorers were felicitated by the Rector  Rev.Fr.Joseph Rodrigues SJ, and Rev.Fr.Gilbert Saldanha SJ and Rev.Fr.Melwyn Pinto SJ, Mr.GK Bhat carried out the honoring ceremony.

In his presidential address Fr Gilbert said, "Education is at the crossroads in today's world.  The world has altered radically and the changes are undergoing in a rapid and profound way. We give  priority to the education which gives only profit.  We must shed light on the meaning of education and our role as teachers.  We must provide a healthy learning atmosphere for the children and teach them creativity.

Further he said, "The home lays the foundation of a student, and when the foundation is strong the building will be strong."  He urged the parents to invest more time on their children and not to invest money in the bank.  "Children are the future and when parents invest time on their children, the future will be bright for the students as well as their parents," he opined.  He also said that "The education is the collaboration of parents and teachers."  He urged the teachers as well as parents to instill in the students honesty, personal responsibilities, patriotism and discipline.

Fr Joseph Rodrigues SJ addressing the gathering said, "Education is to develop all-round development of the students.  Scoring high is not the ultimate solution but learning other extra-curricular activities will develop our interpersonal skills."  He also said, "Some students cannot score high on account of some reasons but they are good in other activities.  Teachers should identify their talents and encourage them accordingly.
