St. Aloysius College Institutions institute_of_konkani

The Konkani Institute of St.Aloysius College, Mangalore in collaboration of the Konkani Sangh, Udupi District and Milagres College, Kalyanpur, conducted a day-long Workshop on Literary facets of playwriting, article writing and short-stories on the 28 November 2010.

There were 54 enthusiastic participants. The Workshop was inaugurated by Ms.Catherine Rodgrius (a  renowed playwright, shortstory writer in Tulu and Konkani). The Chief Guest Rev.Fr.Marcel Saldanha in his message said that he was very happy to see writers from Mangalore and lauded the Konkani Institute of SAC and Konkani Sangh of Udupi for organizing the Workshop.

Rev.Fr.Vijay Lobo, the principal and Correspondent of the Milagres College traced the progressive strides of Konkani literature.

The resources persons, Mr.Dolphy Casia (a well-known playwright, novelist, editor and shortstory writer) spoke on dramatical scene, Mr.Edwin JF DSouza (Executive Director of the Konkani Institute of SAC, a renown novelist, short story writer, columnist and presently a member of the General Council of the Sahitya Akaddemi of New Delhi) spoke on short stories, Dr.Gerald Pinto of Milagres College, Kalyanpur (who was also the co-organizer of this Workshop) spoke on articles/essay writing.

Each session had related exercises and notes were distributed to the participants.
