St Aloysius College (Autonomous) Mangaluru organized  'Clean Coast, Safe Sea – Campaign' in association with Ministry of Earth Sciences, Govt. of India, Vigyan Prasar, New Delhi, Karnataka Science and Technology Academy, Bengaluru and Pilikula Regional Science Centre, Mangaluru organised  organized a lecture on the theme 'Importance of the Sea and Its Resources' as first part of the program of ‘Clean Coast – Safe Sea'. The lecture was delivered by Dr Anish Kumar Warrier, Civil Engineering Department, Manipal University‘.

Dr. Chandrasekhara Shetty, Head, Department of Physics welcomed the gathering. Director of Pilikula Regional Vijnana Kendra Dr. K.V. Rao briefed about the programme. During the program, Mr. Kollegala Sharma, representative of Science Broadcasting spoke about Science Broadcasting Possibilities.

Rev. Dr. Praveen Martis, S.J. in his presidential address spoke about the importance of the sea. N.C.C. Officers Shri Hariprasad Shetty, N.S.S. Officers Mrs. Carrel Pereira, Dean of Center for Social Concern, Jennifer Mascarenhas were present.
