SAC holds National Symposium SAMPRATHI 2023


The Department of Postgraduate Studies and Research in Social Work of St Aloysius College (Autonomous) in collaboration with the National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM), Mangalore Chapter organized a National Symposium on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Compliance: Best Practices for Social Welfare on 25th April 2023 at Eric Mathias Hall, Maffei Centre for Postgraduate Studies. The symposium was organised to bring together experts, practitioners, and scholars to discuss and deliberate on crucial issues related to CSR and POSH compliance.

The Chief Guest for the inauguration ceremony was Mr. Nikesh Shetty, Advocate and Legal Consultant, and the event was presided over by Rev Dr Praveen Martis SJ, the Principal of St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangalore. The symposium featured Ms. Tejaswini U from St Joseph's College of Law, Bengaluru as the resource person for the topic "POSH Act: Fostering Safety and Respect in the Work Environment". Ms. Tjaswini U is a renowned expert in the field and provided valuable insights on the subject matter.
One of the highlights of the symposium was a panel discussion on "CSR Initiatives: Industry, Individual, and Legal Insights". The panel discussion will be enriched by the participation of esteemed panelists including Mr. Ronald Mascarenhas, Consultant-HR, CSR & PR at Syngene International Ltd, Mangalore; Ms. Deepa Nayak P from SDM PG Centre, Mangalore; and Mr. Harish Karnire. The panel discussion was a thought-provoking session, explored various perspectives on CSR initiatives in the industry legal and beneficiary aspects.

The valedictory program was held at 3.45 pm, and the Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. Dheeraj Shetty, Asst Vice President-HR, Ultraviolette Automotive Pvt Ltd, Bengaluru and President- NIPM, and Dr Alwyn D'Sa, Registrar- St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangalutu presided over the ceremony. Dr Vidya Vinutha Dsouza, Assistant Professor from the Department of Post Graduate Studies and Research in Social Work, was the convenor of the symposium. Dr Shwetha Rasquinha, HOD and other members of the staff were present for the symposium.

This National Symposium on CSR and POSH Compliance promises to be a platform for knowledge exchange, insightful discussions, and valuable insights from industry experts and scholars.
